Job Description and Duties

CalRecycle is looking for a Training Analyst to join our training and development unit. This position will leverage your analytical, critical thinking, training, and communication skills. Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the incumbent is responsible for the more technical, varied, and complex analytical and evaluative work of greater difficulty relating to and necessary for the coordination and administration of the department's training program. The analyst will perform a wide variety of analytical duties of difficulty related to the coordination, development, administration, and maintenance of the CalRecycle training program and Learning Management System. The Analyst II will be expected to independently process training requests and records; create and maintain training vendor contracts and training budgets; serve as the main administrator for the Cornerstone Learning Management System; deliver and facilitate training courses; exhibit professional business writing skills, professional presentation skills; and work cooperatively with peers, managers, and professional staff to meet the needs of the Training Unit and the department.

Special Requirements

  • Experience functioning as an administrator of a Cornerstone Learning Management System or other Learning Management System
  • Experience managing contracts and budgets
  • Experience developing and delivering effective training and training materials such as user guides, presentations, videos, eLearnings, and job aids, both in-person and online
  • Robust critical thinking skills and analytical skills to make recommendations to supervisors and managers
  • Experience interpreting, explaining, and applying laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
  • Proficiency in software including Learning Management Systems, eLearning creation software, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint)
