Trainee Debt Advisor

Responsibilities

  • Support clients through every stage of their debt advice journey.
  • Gather information about income, expenditure, debts and personal circumstances.
  • Help clients understand their options and make informed financial decisions.
  • Prepare financial statements and identify ways to maximise income and reduce expenditure.
  • Absorb clients in developing realistic action plans to resolve their debts.
  • Maintain accurate case records using our cloud-based case management system.
  • Liaise with creditors and partner organisations where appropriate.
  • Refer clients to additional support services when needed.
  • Attend team meetings, supervision sessions and ongoing professional development.

Requirements

Excellent communication skills, empathy, attention to detail and a desire to support people through difficult times are essential.

Qualifications

No prior debt advice qualifications are necessary. Comprehensive training will be provided to lead to accredited Debt Adviser status.

Skills

Pay

Trainee: £13.45 per hour, £25,877.00 per annum pro rata depending upon hours.
