Trailer Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking Trailer Mechanics at our Milwaukee, WI Service Center. Key responsibilities include diagnostic processes, repairs, and maintenance of trailers.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections and prepare safety documents as required by FMCSA, company policies, and regulations.
• Interpret technical manuals and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
• Test equipment for proper performance and ensure compliance with manufacturer's specifications and regulations.
• Conduct preventive maintenance checks (PMs) and perform repairs on trailers.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and own personal tools.
• Work in various climate conditions as needed.

Requirements

• Experienced in safety inspections and preparation of safety documents.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals.
• Experience in repairing or replacing trailer parts and systems.
• Knowledge of trailer PMs and repairs.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Own personal tools.
• Dependable and willing to work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Preferred experience with Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System.
• Welding experience.
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles.
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair experience.

Pay

Earn up to $39.75 per hour.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday - Friday, various shifts available.
