Trailer Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Trailer AX Mechanic to join our team. This position offers the potential to earn up to $38.85 per hour, full-time, Monday through Friday, with various shifts available.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the FMCSA, company, and any other applicable regulations.
• Interpret technical manuals.
• Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
• Test equipment for proper performance and ensure compliance with manufacturer's specifications and legislative requirements.
• Perform trailer preventive maintenance (PMs) and repairs.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Own and maintain personal tools.
• Be dependable and prepared to work in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

• Experience with safety inspections and preparation of safety documents.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals.
• Experience in repairing or replacing parts.
• Experience in testing equipment and ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Experience with trailer PMs and repairs.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Own and maintain personal tools.
• Dependable and willing to work in various climate conditions.

Preferred Experience

• Experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System.
• Welding experience.
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles.
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair experience.
