Trailer Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking Trailer Mechanics at our El Paso, TX Service Center. Responsibilities include diagnostic processes, repairs, and maintenance of trailers.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections and prepare safety documents as required by FMCSA, company policies, and regulations
• Interpret technical manuals to repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
• Test equipment for proper performance and ensure compliance with manufacturer's specifications and regulations
• Conduct preventive maintenance checks (PMs) and perform repairs on trailers
• Lift up to 50 lbs and own personal tools
• Work in various climate conditions as needed

Requirements

• Experienced in safety inspections and preparation of safety documents
• Ability to interpret technical manuals
• Experience in repairing or replacing trailer parts and systems
• Knowledge of trailer PMs and repairs
• Able to lift 50 lbs
• Own personal tools
• Dependable and willing to work in various shifts

Qualifications

• Preferred experience with Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System
• Welding experience
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair experience

Pay

Earn up to $37.75 per hour
