Responsibilities
- Planning, organizing, and conducting daily practices
- Aid in managing uniform and equipment distribution
- Teach and develop throwing skills and fundamentals
- Create practice and strategy plans aligned with the Head Varsity Coach’s plan
- Maintain open communication with athletes and their parents
- Inform the Athletic Director and Varsity Head Coach of scheduling changes and other issues
- Provide support to the Head Varsity Coach as needed
Qualifications and Requirements
- Preferred: Coaching experience
- Necessary: Basic knowledge of all Track and Field events
- Necessary: Experience at the high school varsity, club, and/or college level
- PREFERRED: Familiarity with the Catholic High School League and knowledge of the MHSAA organizations
- Necessary: Willingness to meet all League and state coaching requirements
- Necessary: Strong interpersonal skills
- Necessary: Ability to interact effectively with coaches, administrators, student athletes, and parents
- Necessary: Support the growth of student athletes in virtue, discipleship, and living the Catholic faith
- Necessary: Completion of Protecting God's Children workshop, digital fingerprinting, and background check
- Necessary: After-school availability (3:00 pm or later) for practices and events
- Necessary: Saturday availability during the season
