Responsibilities
- Process multi-state payroll accurately and on time in accordance with company policies and payroll schedules.
- Review, validate, and audit payroll data including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.
- Cook with Finance on payroll funding, reporting, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Support year-end processes including W-2 preparation and distribution.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, deductions, and payroll policies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, total rewards, or HR operations. Experience processing multi-state payroll preferred. Experience supporting compensation programs and salary administration. Experience with HRIS, payroll, and benefits platforms.
- Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Strong knowledge of payroll practices, tax regulations, and compliance requirements. Working knowledge of employee benefits administration and applicable laws. Understanding compensation principles, salary structures, and market pricing. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HR systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Qualifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or CEBS certification preferred. Experience with Dayforce, or similar HRIS/payroll systems. Experience supporting annual compensation and benefits planning cycles.
