About the role

The Bartender plays a crucial role in the bar experience at Topgolf, ensuring every guest receives a personalized and enjoyable service. This position requires a deep understanding of spirits and mixology, along with excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Craft the Experience
    • Receive drink orders from guests and waitstaff and execute them accurately, quickly, and to Topgolf’s service standards
    • Prepare and serve liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic beverages with consistency and craft
    • Ensure fruit garnishes and bar prep are completed before the bar opens so service is seamless from the first pour
    • Upsell premium spirits, cocktails, and experiences to enhance the guest’s visit and venue revenue
  • Own the Bar
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and attractively presented bar
    • Glass, bottles, and supplies are always in their place
    • Verify the legal drinking age of every guest by checking a valid photo ID before serving alcohol
    • Collect payment from guests accurately, handle cash with care, and observe all rules of responsible alcohol service
    • Exercise sound judgment and refuse service to any patron who is intoxicated or disruptive
    • Keep the Venue Running at Its Best
      • Maintain bar inventory and submit orders or requisition forms for liquor, beer, and bar supplies before stock runs low
      • Stock bar snacks and keep the bar surface clean and guest-ready throughout the shift
      • Communicate with kitchen and service teams to ensure food and drink delivery is seamless
      • Flag any safety concerns, guest issues, or equipment problems to management immediately

    • Takes ownership of the bar and brings your best every shift because guests deserve nothing less
    • Holds yourself to high standards for drink quality, bar cleanliness, and guest engagement every shift
    • Manages the bar with urgency and ownership nothing gets missed, nothing gets stale

Qualifications

  • Completion of mixology, barkeeping, or other related training required
  • 1+ years of bartending or hospitality experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of drink preparation, spirits, and responsible alcohol service
  • Ability to obtain required alcohol service licenses and certifications for your location
  • Ability to learn and operate cash register or point-of-sale software
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be of legal drinking age or older as required by state or local law

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain on your feet and in motion for extended periods throughout the shift, including standing, walking, and moving throughout the bar and venue floor
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds independently, including kegs, cases of product, and bar supplies
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions including shaking, pouring, and handling bar equipment throughout the shift
  • Ability to complete drink orders quickly and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume bar environment
  • Ability to work in varying temperature environments on a frequent basis, including areas near refrigeration equipment and outdoor or partially outdoor spaces
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a high-energy, high-volume venue environment that may include moderate to high levels of background noise
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining focus, service standards, and guest engagement under pressure
