Tooling Technician - Plastic Injection

About the role

VRC Engineered Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Tooling Technician to support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for managing tooling maintenance, repairs, changeovers, and documentation to ensure efficient and uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mold changeovers efficiently and safely
  • Clean, inspect, and maintain molds and tooling
  • Maintain accurate MRO records in IQMS
  • Update tooling and changeover documentation
  • Assign and track storage locations for molds and fixtures
  • Support minor tooling repairs and crating as needed
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks and maintain records
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime

Required Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
  • Basic computer skills (data entry, documentation)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (bending, crouching, standing, etc.)
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and work independently or as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in tooling, manufacturing, or mechanical maintenance
  • Experience with IQMS or similar ERP/MRO systems
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
