Description Permian Plastics is seeking a Plastic Injection Process Technician to support our injection molding operations in O’Fallon, Missouri. This position is responsible for maintaining stable, efficient molding processes while troubleshooting production issues, improving process performance, and supporting the safe production of quality parts. Key Responsibilities Set up, start up, monitor, and adjust injection molding processes to maintain quality, efficiency, and consistent production.Troubleshoot molding defects, process variation, equipment concerns, and production interruptions.Sample new molds and assist in identifying process or tooling refinements necessary to achieve production requirements.Monitor cycle times, scrap rates, and overall process performance and recommend improvements when targets are not being achieved.Optimize molding processes to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and support production goals.Document optimized processes and maintain accurate process and set-up information, including mold temperatures, water configurations, hot sprue settings, nozzle information, ejector settings, and common processing issues and solutions.Identify tooling, maintenance, material, or equipment concerns and communicate or submit appropriate work requests when issues are identified.Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Tooling to resolve manufacturing issues.Provide processing expertise, technical guidance, and support to production employees and leadership.Follow and support all company safety, quality, and operating standards.Identify opportunities for improved equipment, technology, processes, safety, efficiency, and cost reduction.Maintain tools and work areas in a safe and organized condition.As an individual contributor, provide operational guidance and backup support for shift supervision when coverage is needed.Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in plastic injection molding or equivalent demonstrated injection molding experience and technical capability.Working knowledge of injection molding processes, materials, molds, and related production equipment.Ability to troubleshoot molding defects and identify appropriate processing adjustments.Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Ability to read, follow, and accurately document process parameters and production requirements.Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Tooling, and leadership.Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond effectively to changing production priorities.Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including prolonged standing and walking and working with hands and tools above shoulder height.Steel-toe safety shoes or boots are required. Schedule & Compensation Multiple shifts are available. Pay range: $23.10–$30.96 per hour,(plus shift differential compensation), with starting pay based on relevant injection molding experience, demonstrated technical capability, and qualifications.
