Mold Technician - Plastic Injection Molding

Responsibilities

• Daily turnovers for effective communication with molding engineers, either in person or through detailed emails when face-to-face communication is not possible
• Training, coaching, and mentoring of new team members
• Material handling, mixing, drying, analysis, inventory, and documentation
• Mold interface hookups, water, electrical, clamping, knockouts, sprues, and miscellaneous connections to molding machines
• Completing and documenting these setups
• Participating in sampling reviews as directed by the molding engineer
• Production molding run setup and startup
• Operating molding machines and all support equipment as necessary to complete production runs on designated shifts
• Maintaining the system for tagging/cleaning/storing all molds
• Maintaining molding support equipment
• Maintaining raw material storage systems
• Conducting housekeeping as required
• Molding wipe downs and basic preventative maintenance
• Basic tool repair and pulling/setting tools on molds
• Press color changes and continuity
• Press hopper setup and repair
• Troubleshooting machine/process problems and correcting them in a timely manner
• Operating and diagnosing IM machines and automated downstream equipment
• Maintaining thorough quality checks and performing tasks with accuracy
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Working efficiently in a fast-paced and team environment
• Directing IP and assisting in the training of new IPs
• Displaying leadership qualities
• Following all policies and procedures

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior mold technician experience required
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience leading teams and training new employees

Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package including a salary range of $19-$24.00 per hour (based on education and experience), plus a $1.50 third shift differential. Additional benefits include:

Pay

$19- $24.00/hour (Based on education and experience) + $1.50 3rd shift differential
