About the role

The STAR program is designed to provide specialized support to students with additional needs in a school-wide setting. The teacher assistant will assist in implementing the curriculum, supporting students' learning, and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Supports students with additional needs in academic, social, and emotional development.
• Assists in lesson planning and implementation, following the STAR program guidelines.
• Maintains a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Works collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support student progress.
• Participates in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• Current CPR/AED certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or similar organization.
• Valid driver's license or state-issued identification card.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 48 credit hours from an accredited college or university, or a passing score on the ETS ParaPro assessment.
• Experience working with children.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of special education principles and practices.

Pay

$18.00 per hour

Schedule

Regular shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
