TILE DISTRIBUTION - MATERIAL HANDLER II (1ST SHIFT)

About the role
Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of warehouse duties such as pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product, maintain displays (tools, caulk, etc.), move, store, and replenish material, and conduct daily cycle counts.
- Performs receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
- Operates forklift equipment.
- Maintains clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, restroom and general office maintenance, etc.
- Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator.
- 1 or more years previous distribution/warehouse experience.
- Minimum of 6 months previous stand-up forklift or order picker equipment experience (no experience required for pallet jack).
- Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
- Good oral and written communications skills.
- Good record keeping skills.
- Good listening skills.
- Accurate measurement capability.
- Ability to understand and speak basic English.
- Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
- Required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- May be required to sit, climb or balance.
- May lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Average number of picks per hour is 25, with the average weight between 40-70 lbs (heavier picks of 50-70 lbs account for 65% of the work shift; lighter items of 20-40 lbs account for 35%).
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
- Noise level is usually loud.

Schedule
Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm, with possible overtime and occasional Saturday work.
