TILE DISTRIBUTION - MATERIAL HANDLER II (2ND SHIFT)

About the role

Join the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States. Our Material Handlers spend their days moving product, operating equipment, and staying physically engaged in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position requires lifting products weighing 50-70 pounds.

Schedule

2:30pm–11:00pm, Monday through Friday, with possible overtime and occasional Saturday work.

Primary objective

Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of warehouse duties such as pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product, maintain displays (tools, caulk, etc.), move, store, and replenish material, and conduct daily cycle counts.
  • Perform receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
  • Operate forklift equipment.
  • Maintain clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, restroom and general office maintenance, etc.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Certified sit-down forklift operator.
  • 1 or more years of previous distribution/warehouse experience.
  • Minimum of 6 months of previous stand-up forklift or order picker equipment experience (no experience required for pallet jack).
  • Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.

Physical demands & work environment

  • Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.

  • May be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance.
  • May lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Average number of picks per hour is 25; average weight is between 40–70 lbs. Heavier picks (50–70 lbs) comprise 65% of the work shift; lighter items (20–40 lbs) comprise 35%.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
  • Noise level is usually loud.
