About the role
Join the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States as an entry-level Material Handler. In this role, you will operate various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and convey them to packing or shipping areas, performing a variety of warehouse duties in a family-friendly work environment that values work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and order picker equipment to pick and assemble customer orders.
- Check outbound orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product, and maintain displays (tools, caulk, etc.).
- Move, store, and replenish material; conduct daily cycle counts.
- Receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, and stock material.
- Process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
- Maintain a clean and organized facility (sweeping, trash removal, restroom and office maintenance).
- Uphold a safe working environment by following all safety rules and reporting accidents or unsafe conditions.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator.
- 1 year of previous warehouse experience preferred.
- Good oral and written communication skills, record-keeping skills, and listening skills.
- Ability to understand and speak basic English and perform accurate measurements.
- Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
- Ability to work safely and conscientiously.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, use hands, reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- May be required to sit, climb, or balance occasionally.
- Must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Average picks per hour: 25, with weights between 40-70 lbs (65% of shift) and 20-40 lbs (35% of shift).
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures; noise level is usually loud.
