TILE DISTRIBUTION - MATERIAL HANDLER I (1ST SHIFT)

About the role

Join the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States as an entry-level Material Handler. In this role, you will operate various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and convey them to packing or shipping areas, performing a variety of warehouse duties in a family-friendly work environment that values work-life balance.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and order picker equipment to pick and assemble customer orders.
• Check outbound orders for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product, and maintain displays (tools, caulk, etc.).
• Move, store, and replenish material; conduct daily cycle counts.
• Receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, and stock material.
• Process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
• Maintain a clean and organized facility (sweeping, trash removal, restroom and office maintenance).
• Uphold a safe working environment by following all safety rules and reporting accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator.
• 1 year of previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills, record-keeping skills, and listening skills.
• Ability to understand and speak basic English and perform accurate measurements.
• Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
• Ability to work safely and conscientiously.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, use hands, reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• May be required to sit, climb, or balance occasionally.
• Must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Average picks per hour: 25, with weights between 40-70 lbs (65% of shift) and 20-40 lbs (35% of shift).
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures; noise level is usually loud.
