TILE DISTRIBUTION - MATERIAL HANDLER I (RECEIVING)

About the role

Dal‑Tile, the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States and a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries, is seeking an eager and motivated entry‑level material handler. Responsibilities

• Operate various powered industrial trucks (forklift, order picker) to pick customer orders and convey them to the packing station or shipping area.
• Pull and assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product, and maintain displays (tools, caulk, etc.).
• Move, store, and replenish material; conduct daily cycle counts.
• Receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, process customer returns, and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
• Maintain a clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, restroom and general office maintenance.
• Maintain a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules, reporting accidents, unsafe conditions, and acts to management.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified sit‑down forklift operator.
• At least 1 year of previous warehouse experience (preferred).
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good record‑keeping and listening skills.
• Accurate measurement capability.
• Ability to understand and speak basic English.
• Ability to work safely and conscientiously.
• Dal‑Tile certification to operate powered industrial trucks.
• Physical demands: regularly stand, use hands, reach, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally sit, climb, or balance; lift and/or move up to 75 lb.
• Average pick rate of 25 picks per hour; average weight 40‑70 lb (heavier picks 50‑70 lb comprise ~65 % of shift).
• Vision requirements: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, occasional fumes or airborne particles, a wide range of temperatures, and loud noise levels.
