About the role
The Throughput Center Technician provides a variety of nursing support services throughout the East community.
Responsibilities
- Deploy nursing staffing resources to facilitate cost-effective coverage for all shifts within multiple patient care areas in the East Community hospitals.
- Place patients in appropriate units based on physician orders and identified criteria.
- Proactively analyze and identify staffing issues with a focus on resolution.
- Facilitate hospital throughput.
- Collect data as directed.
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and service standards.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- Previous clinical experience preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Qualifications
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; must possess the ability to deal tactfully with a variety of callers.
- Ability to be a supportive team member and contribute to teamwork.
- Ability to handle difficult situations with patience and tact.
- Ability to multitask.
- Willingness to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing practices.
- Must uphold all principles of confidentiality and patient care to the fullest extent.
- Analytical mind, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
