About the role
Join our team as a DBT Therapist-In-Training to support individuals in achieving emotional wellness and recovery. Under supervision from a Licensed Therapist or Psychologist, this role involves providing assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment services for clients with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders, with a focus on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Responsibilities
- Deliver individual, family, couples, and group psychotherapy services.
- Facilitate DBT-focused therapy sessions, including skills training in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Conduct clinical assessments, develop diagnoses, and create collaborative treatment plans.
- Provide psychoeducation and skill-building support to clients and their supports.
- Participate in team meetings and clinical supervision.
- Maintain accurate documentation and client records.
- Provide trauma-informed, person-centered care aligned with evidence-based practices.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
- Eligibility for a Wisconsin training license (APSW, LPC-IT, or MFT-IT).
- Practicum experience in behavioral health required.
- Experience or training in DBT preferred; willingness to complete DBT training required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
