Therapist In-Training

About the role

This training position provides assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment services under supervision, with a focus on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). The role supports individual, family, couples, and group psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and trauma-informed, person-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual, family, couples, and group psychotherapy
• Facilitate DBT skills training in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness
• Develop collaborative treatment plans with clients
• Conduct clinical assessments and provide psychoeducation
• Participate in team meetings and clinical supervision
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a behavioral health field
• Eligibility for a Wisconsin training license
• Practicum experience
• Preference for prior DBT training or willingness to complete DBT training

Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication
• Proficiency in clinical documentation
• Ability to build therapeutic relationships
• Passion for helping clients develop coping skills

Schedule

• Flexible hours including evenings and weekends to accommodate client needs
