About the Role

This is a bachelor’s-level dual position where you would take cases as both a Therapeutic Training & Support Staff (TT&S) in the In-Home Therapy (IHT) program and a Therapeutic Mentor (TM) in the TM Program. Positions are available part-time (24 hours per week) and per diem.

Fuller Hospital is a 109-bed licensed, private psychiatric facility in South Attleboro, Massachusetts, providing inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services to residents of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Inpatient units treat adults with general psychiatric or intellectual disabilities, adolescents with general psychiatric issues, and patients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. The hospital also offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for psychiatric and co-occurring disorders.

Program Overview

The Community Services Program includes two separate programs:

  • In-Home Therapy (IHT): Provides youth with intensive therapy and family sessions in the home, guided by a master's-level clinician and a bachelor's-level support staff (TT&S). The goal is to improve family dynamics, healthy functioning, and prevent escalation to higher levels of care through frequent home visits.
  • Therapeutic Mentoring (TM): A less intensive service where the TM takes the child/adolescent into the community to work on daily living skills, social and communication skills, and connecting the client to community resources.

Responsibilities

Therapeutic Training & Support Staff (TT&S)

  • Work alongside a master's-level In-Home Therapist to provide mental and behavioral health services to children/adolescents and their families in their homes.
  • Co-facilitate family sessions with the IHT.
  • Work individually with clients to practice and build skills learned in therapy.
  • Assist clients in crisis by following established safety plans; direct clients to the 24-hour crisis line if unavailable.

Therapeutic Mentor (TM)

  • Take clients into the community to work on skill-building and identify community resources.
  • Communicate weekly with a MA-level "Hub" (e.g., ICC, IHT, or OPT) for guidance on interventions and treatment.

Position Details

  • Client Diagnoses: Variety of diagnoses including trauma, behavioral problems, depression, anxiety, autism, and ADHD.
  • Hours: Flexible scheduling with families; sessions often occur after school during the school year, but daytime and weekend appointments are possible. Part-time (24 hours) and full-time (32 or 40 hours) positions available.
  • Caseload: Part-time (24 hours) may have 4-6 cases; full-time may have 8-10 cases. No set number of clients—caseload is based on hours worked.
  • Areas of Service: Southeast Massachusetts, including Attleboro, Taunton, Mansfield, Norton, Foxboro, New Bedford, and Fall River. Efforts are made to centralize cases to minimize travel.
  • Supervision: One hour of face-to-face supervision per week with a licensed clinician (in-person or via Zoom) to discuss cases, interventions, paperwork, and concerns. Weekly group supervision is also offered.
  • Staff Meetings: Mandatory 1-hour weekly meetings (currently biweekly via Zoom due to COVID-19) covering program updates, community resources, case consultations, trainings, and discussions.
  • Paperwork:
    • Progress notes and billing for the week (Sunday-Saturday) are due before the following Sunday.
    • Document all client interactions, including sessions, phone calls, and treatment planning.
    • TM-specific paperwork includes intake forms, treatment plans, and quarterly treatment plan updates.
    • Timesheets must account for all hours worked, with 75% billable tasks (e.g., sessions, phone calls) and 25% non-billable tasks (e.g., driving, supervision, staff meetings).
  • Telehealth: Primarily in-person sessions unless telehealth is requested by the family.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with at least 2 years of experience working with children/adolescents.
  • Experience: 1-2 years preferred.
