Therapeutic Mentor / Therapeutic Training & Support Staff
About the role
Therapeutic Mentors provide therapeutic skill-building support to children and adolescents ages 3-20, and include supporting, coaching, role-playing, and modeling. Meetings occur in environments that are most comfortable for the youth and practical for achieving identified goals.
Responsibilities
- Have a passion for supporting youth with behavioral, emotional, and social difficulties
- Compliance with and working knowledge of all applicable HPTC policies and program procedures including but not limited to those relating to ethics/boundaries, confidentiality, and duties of role
- Able to perform as a role model, teaching and supporting with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to accept and provide constructive feedback
- Open to the respect of culture and diversity
- Excellent time management skills, a strong work ethic, and attention to detail
- Investigate and develop community contacts and cooperative networks with other community groups and agencies
Requirements
21 years of age or older
Bachelor’s degree in a human service field and one year of related experience working with youth
