AWARE is looking for a Therapeutic Recreation Service Technician to join our team. Responsibilities

• Work independently in assigned location/region
• Travel via personal vehicle or AWARE vehicle to client or service area
• Lead and instruct participants in gaining life skills
• Plan and lead recreational activities
• Implement interventions sensitive to client age, cultural background, stage of development, limitations of disabling conditions, skill, and experience level
• Role model by demonstrating and engaging in activities alongside clients to promote positive lifestyle skills
• Assist TRPD in creating protocols for interventions that include short-term goals and criteria for assignment
• Observe client response to intervention to verbally communicate and collaborate with TRPD and treatment team members
• Document outcomes of the intervention in EHR per policy to provide evidence for TRPD needed for evaluation of TR program effectiveness
• At time of transition or discharge, provide TRPD with client information to assist in formulating a transition/discharge plan

Requirements

• High School Diploma or HSE is required, along with past employment experience
• Must have, or be willing to obtain, a valid Montana Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record
• Must have an acceptable criminal and protective services background check
