Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist
About the role
The Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist Coach (TBS Coach) at Clarvida is responsible for providing home, school or day treatment-based support services to children, adolescents, and families. This role works cooperatively with treatment care personnel and performs duties on-site with the children/adolescents. This individual works in conjunction with the schools, group homes, other allied professionals, families, and clients to facilitate therapeutic relationships, build upon family and child's strengths, teach pro-social skills, and facilitate effective family and community engagement. This person also works directly to improve problematic behaviors and impairments.
Responsibilities
- Assists clients and parent/guardian during the time client has most difficulty functioning
- Conducts interventions aimed at maximizing client's function, including coping and social skills
- Communicates with treatment therapists to magnify therapeutic gains
- Keeps accurate, up-to-date records on clients served including contact summaries, progress notes, and support service plans
- Attends staff meetings and brings any issues or concerns to be added to their supervisor
- Maintain and ensures HIPAA, ethical standards and professional boundaries with all staff and clients
- Affirms client's confidentiality and safety
- Transport clients to accommodate community relationships. Use of personal car or vehicle is required
- Meets monthly productivity requirement of 100 hours
- Handles as assigned of On-Call Phone / After Hours duties
- Other duties as assigned or necessary to support your department/program, office and/or the company
Requirements
- Level of Supervision: Does not supervise others
- Education/Licensing Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field and two years related experience or four years equivalent experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Proof of: valid California driver’s license and auto insurance, as well as proof of education are required
- Knowledge, Skills And Experience: Must have two (2) years experience or education in a related field. Knowledge and/or experience working with seriously emotionally disturbed children and adolescents. Excellent prioritization and organization skills, strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work flexible schedule to meet the needs to the Program. Intermediate level PC skills required
Qualifications
- Physical Requirements: Office Environment (not remote position). Requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking; May be required to lift up to 20 pounds. Requires significant use of computer, tablet, phone and/or general office equipment. Needs adequate visual acuity, ability to grasp and handle objects. Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone. Will require off-site travel 20% - local and out of state (meeting, county and/or client needs)
Skills
- Must have two (2) years experience or education in a related field
