About the role

The Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist Coach (TBS Coach) plays a crucial role in supporting children, adolescents, and families. This position requires a combination of clinical expertise, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to recovery-focused care.

Responsibilities

  • Aids clients and their parents/guardians during challenging times
  • Conducts interventions to enhance client function, including coping and social skills
  • Collaborates with treatment therapists to reinforce therapeutic gains
  • Keeps detailed records of client interactions, progress, and support plans
  • Attends staff meetings and reports on any issues or concerns
  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to ethical standards and professional boundaries
  • Ensures client safety and transportation to community events
  • Meets monthly productivity targets of 100 hours
  • Handles on-call phone and after-hours duties as needed
  • Works collaboratively with schools, group homes, and other professionals
  • Builds upon clients' strengths and supports their journey towards recovery

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Valid California driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Intermediate-level PC skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent prioritization and organization skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends
  • Experience working with seriously emotionally disturbed children and adolescents
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and willingness to learn new methods

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience or education in a related field
  • Certified or licensed as per state regulations
  • Proven ability to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
  • Intermediate-level PC skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends
  • Experience working with seriously emotionally disturbed children and adolescents
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and willingness to learn new methods
