Theatre Arts Adjunct Dance
About the role
Teach Residential Dance courses in the Department of Theatre Arts. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching. Teaching assignments include dance technique and lecture courses. The applicant should highlight the dance forms or dance studies they are well prepared to instruct. The position requires a love of teaching, the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats, knowledge of pedagogical best practices, the ability to use current teaching technology (LMS, e-textbooks, etc.), and a commitment to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University.
Responsibilities
- Teach dance courses in the Department of Theatre Arts with a commitment to student success.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Record attendance and grades in Canvas.
- Classroom management and allocation of teaching resources.
- Strictly adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
- Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
Requirements
- MA with 18 hours of graduate dance courses or an MFA in Dance.
- Previous teaching experience is recommended.
