About the Role
Assist and support management and the leadership team with handling and resolving Human Resources issues.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent is required with at least 2 years of Human Resources experience
- College coursework in a related field is helpful
- Familiarity with and knowledge of basic Human Resources
- Proficient with Windows operating systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to routinely meet deadlines
- Ability to multitask
- Effective in handling workplace problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues
- Ability to assimilate complex information from disparate sources and adjust or modify to meet specific needs
- Effective listening skills to understand, clarify, and resolve concerns raised by coworkers and guests
- Ability to work with and understand financial information, data, and basic arithmetic functions
Responsibilities
- Approach all encounters with guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards and scheduling needs
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including compliance with the company dress code
- Comply with and ensure adherence to company standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations
- Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow associates at all times
- Assist employees with internal and external transfer requests and procedures
- Monitor and assist managers/supervisors with hiring processes and issues
- Coordinate and conduct applicant drug screens, reference checks, background checks, motor vehicle checks, and social security number verification
- Maintain applicant flow, drug screen, orientation, and transfer request logs
- Create and maintain new hire and personnel files and enter them into Human Resources Information Systems
- Assist with orientation of new employees
- Monitor all hiring and recruitment processes for compliance with local, state, and federal laws and company policies
- Ensure accurate maintenance of all employee records and files (e.g., interview documents, I-9s)
- Support processing and maintenance of payroll records in accordance with policies and procedures, as necessary
- Inform Human Resources management of issues related to employee relations within the division or property
- Create and maintain filing systems
- Generate Human Resources data reports as necessary
- Answer phone calls and record messages
- Create and type office correspondence using a computer
- Serve as a Human Resources subject matter expert and participate on project teams
- Train new hires on Human Resources processes, programs, policies, and information systems
- Communicate clearly and professionally; prepare and review written documents accurately; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
