About the role

As a Restaurant Server at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel, you will provide fast, friendly, and courteous service to every customer while adhering to Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies, procedures, and Internal Control Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Report to work well-groomed, in full uniform, on time, and with your badge on the upper left side of your uniform.
  • Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service of food and beverage to all guests.
  • Demonstrate hospitality, friendliness, and professionalism with guests, co-workers, and management using positive body language.
  • Support and uphold the philosophy and goals of Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel at all times.
  • Perform duties assigned by managers or shift managers, including assisting other employees as needed to work as one team.
  • Familiarize yourself with check and cashing procedures, liquor laws, and property details (e.g., restroom locations, restaurant/store hours, and handling guest inquiries).
  • Maintain full knowledge of the menu, wine lists, and daily specials.
  • Greet all guests within one minute in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Complete designated opening and closing side work daily and confirm with a manager before clocking out.
  • Relay guest complaints or compliments to the manager or supervisor on duty.
  • Adhere to all information security policies, including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional work environment.
  • Meet attendance guidelines and comply with all regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Complete all required SGC training programs within nine months of employment.
  • Attend necessary meetings and review all posted information (e.g., upcoming events, VIPs, special guests, and reservation details).
  • Maintain a neat, organized, and stocked workstation, including pre-bussing tables and general restaurant upkeep.
  • Visit all tables during service to ensure guest satisfaction and assist guests upon departure (e.g., helping with coats, thanking them, and inviting them to return).
  • Follow all tip-out procedures according to standards.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
  • Six months of previous customer service experience required; high-volume experience preferred.
  • Must possess an outgoing, friendly personality and a cheerful, accommodating disposition.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively with customers and employees.
  • Ability to resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and use fingers/hands for lifting and grasping.
  • Must be able to lift and carry trays up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and assist customers with special needs.
  • Must be able to talk to and hear customers and co-workers clearly.
  • Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds constantly.
  • Visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work in a moderately loud environment where smoking is permitted.
  • Must maintain physical stamina and a positive mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

  • Must be approved for and maintain a valid Seneca Nation license.
  • Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
  • Preference is given to qualified members of the Seneca Nation of Indians or qualified Native American candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act (25 USC 472).

Pay

Starting rate: $10.70 per hour. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
