About the role
At Seneca Resorts & Casinos, the Restaurant Server provides fast, friendly, and courteous service to every customer in a dynamic, high-volume environment. You’ll work as part of a team that values hospitality, professionalism, and a positive guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Report to work on time, well-groomed in full uniform with badge displayed.
- Deliver prompt, friendly, and courteous food and beverage service to all guests.
- Demonstrate hospitality, friendliness, and professionalism with guests, coworkers, and management using positive body language.
- Support and uphold the philosophy and goals of Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel.
- Perform duties as assigned by managers or shift supervisors and assist other employees as needed.
- Follow all check and cash-handling procedures and adhere to liquor laws and company policies.
- Maintain knowledge of the menu, wine lists, daily specials, property layout, and operational hours to efficiently handle guest inquiries.
- Greet all guests within one minute in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Complete opening and closing side work daily and confirm with management before clocking out.
- Relay guest complaints and compliments to the manager or supervisor on duty.
- Comply with all information security policies, including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional work environment.
- Meet attendance guidelines and complete all required SGC training programs within nine months of employment.
- Attend all necessary meetings and stay informed about upcoming events, VIPs, and large parties.
- Maintain a neat, organized, and stocked workstation; pre-bus tables and handle guest checks.
- Perform general upkeep of the restaurant, including cleaning floors and picking up debris.
- Visit all tables during service to ensure guest satisfaction and assist guests upon departure.
- Follow all tip-out procedures according to company standards.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
- Six months of previous customer service experience required; high-volume experience preferred.
- Must have an outgoing, friendly personality and a cheerful, accommodating disposition.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively with customers and employees.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve conflicts diplomatically.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout the casino for extended periods.
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and use fingers/hands for lifting and grasping.
- Must be able to lift and carry trays up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motions and maintain physical stamina in a moderately loud environment.
- Must be able to talk, hear, and assist customers, including those with special needs.
- Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds constantly.
- Visual acuity required to ensure accuracy and neatness of work.
- Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted and adapt to temperature changes.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
Pay
Starting rate: $10.70 per hour. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
