About the Role
The McCrary Institute for Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Security at Auburn University seeks a TES Administrative Assistant. This position provides varied levels of administrative and technical support to an administrative department through Temporary Employment Services (TES), an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES offers qualified temporary employees for assistance during peak workloads, special projects, seasonal work, or emergencies. This is an opportunity to showcase professional skills, gain valuable work experience in higher education, and support Auburn University. Note: AU students are not eligible for TES.
Responsibilities
- Perform multiple administrative and clerical duties, including data gathering, data management, correspondence, filing, calendar management, event scheduling, mail distribution, answering phones, and organizing mail.
- Provide budget preparation, payroll processing, travel/expense voucher processing, and other accounting and financial tasks.
- Manipulate and prepare data, databases, or reports using a computer.
- Perform administrative duties such as budget coordination, human resources administration (beyond payroll entry), preparation of reports, documents, and presentations, or coordination of complex projects or events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of administrative, office support, or customer service experience, OR
- Associate's degree, OR
- Bachelor's degree.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Banner, TigerBuy, or Canva (or equivalent tools).
Skills
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to operate basic office equipment and work as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team in a professional office environment.
- Ability to assist with event coordination, supply management, and general administrative support tasks.
