About the role
Avosan Medical is a medical device company dedicated to developing and delivering innovative healthcare solutions. The Territory Manager, Surgical Pain role is based in Baltimore, DC Metro, Northern VA.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed sales objectives for Surgical Pain products, including On-Q and Ambit Pump Pumps.
- Build and maintain relationships with surgeons, physicians, therapists, nurses, clinicians, and administrators in assigned accounts or markets.
- Communicate with current and potential customers during surgical procedures and actively protect existing market share.
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve business objectives.
- Participate in strategic and tactical planning processes, drive contract management, and negotiate local prices.
- Utilize CRM tools and reporting data to grow the territory and deliver value to customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- At least four years of sales experience, with at least two years in medical sales, focusing on surgeons, hospitals, and ASCs.
- One year of experience in an operating room setting.
- Understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies, including fee for service, value-based care, and alternative payment methods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including overnights.
- Experience working with PC-based applications (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Deep understanding of medical terminology and clinical practices.
- Ability to lead in the face of ambiguity and persistence to achieve long-term objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- At least four years of demonstrated success in sales, with at least two of those years in medical sales calling on surgeons, hospitals, and ASCs.
- One year of experience in an operating room setting.
- Understanding of the hospital/ASC buying process including the role of GPO’s, IDN’s, and Distributors.
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies, including but not limited to fee for service, value-based care and alternative payment methods.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including overnights.
- Experience working with PC based applications (Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Deep understanding of medical terminology and clinical practices.
- Evidence of continued personal and professional growth and development.
- Ability to lead in the face of ambiguity and persistence to achieve long-term objectives in the face of obstacles.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds.

Pay
The anticipated average base pay range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00. In addition, this role is eligible for an attractive incentive compensation program and benefits. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the base posted.
