Territory Manager (Northern California & Northern Nevada)
Gaia Flooring is a fast-growing company in the flooring industry, specializing in delivering high-quality laminate and vinyl flooring. We are looking for a Territory Manager to be a selling and brand ambassador for Gaia, covering an established territory that includes Northern California, Northern Sacramento County, and Northern Nevada. Overnight travel to the Oregon border will be required.
About the role
As a Territory Manager, you will visit accounts daily across the region, build and maintain strong relationships with clients, and drive business growth within this geographical area.
Responsibilities
- Perform sales calls, including traveling to the facilities of new and potential customers to share information and support, facilitate sales presentations, calculate and quote prices, take orders, and close transactions
- Provide customer service to ensure resolution of issues within marketing policies
- Communicate customer requirements and request support from other departments as necessary
- Monitor territory performance against established objectives and guidelines, taking strategic action to improve performance
- Provide product-specific customer feedback to product line managers, management, or customer service personnel to assist in achieving the company’s mission, vision, and objectives
- Assist in establishing sales objectives for the territory in conjunction with the Sales Director and ensure sales activities comply with established policies, procedures, and practices
- Provide timely reporting of activities in the field and special reporting to assist in business and product planning
- Assist in developing a territory coverage plan, defining the type of support and frequency of customer contact required to meet territory goals
- Perform analysis on regional opportunities and develop forecasts for sales by customer and product, including statistical reports as required
Requirements
- High school diploma required (college degree preferred)
- 1-3 years of related sales experience (B2B flooring sales preferred)
- Ability to learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s diverse business and product lines
- Knowledge of the terms, concepts, and practices of the marketing and sales environment, including basic accounting, product developments, manufacturing procedures, distribution, and customer service
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Google Suite and other internal database systems
Skills
- Presenting and communicating in oral, written, and interpersonal forms to effectively interact and negotiate with internal and external customers and business contacts
- Reducing tension or conflict in antagonistic situations while maintaining professionalism
- Ability to persuade, market, and sell new ideas
Travel
- Daily travel within your territory with overnight travel to Northern Oregon
- Yearly travel to floor covering conventions may be required
Pay
Estimated Annual Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000 (includes base salary plus projected earnings from commissions, based on achieving sales targets; actual earnings will vary depending on performance).
