About the role

Territory Managers for Miller sell high-quality, value-added adjuvants and nutritional products to agricultural distributors and retailers throughout the region. They also work with growers to uncover needs and enhance crop production through solving problems with Miller products, ensuring a smooth sales process. The Territory Manager will find new sales leads through business directories, client referrals, trade shows, and other methods to grow sales for the company.

The Territory Manager will have a proven passion for providing stellar customer service and a desire to assist growers of annual and perennial crops in improving quality and yield using Miller products and technologies. They will assist distributors directly and provide support in collaboration with our sales and marketing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage in assigned territory with PCAs, Growers, Distributors, and Extensions
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of the market in assigned sales territory
  • Exhibit passion, energy, and creativity in the sales and support of Miller products and objectives
  • Be results-oriented, take initiative, overcome obstacles, and find creative solutions to challenges
  • Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences in group and individual meetings
  • Demonstrate confidence in representing Miller in customer and industry interactions
  • Communicate product, market, competitive, and customer data clearly and concisely
  • Track and deliver on agreed Key Performance Indicators
  • Identify opportunities for field research trials and collaborate with the Research or Regional Agronomist to coordinate and design test protocols aligned to business and market needs
  • Make sound agronomic recommendations to customers by presenting products and solutions to maximize customer outcomes
  • Proactively communicate with Miller Chemical leadership regarding opportunities and obstacles in the selling process
  • Represent Miller Chemical as the expert in non-hazardous crop protection products and nutritional agricultural chemicals
  • Collaborate with Miller colleagues to deliver on customer and Miller objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Crop Science or similar agricultural, scientific/technical field of study preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in specialty agricultural product sales or development and marketing support
  • Extensive knowledge of crop production and cultural practices
  • Ability to travel as required by the Territory
  • Clean driving record
  • Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual skills in Spanish is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge of sales in agricultural specialty products (adjuvants, specialty fertilizer, biostimulants, and pesticides)
  • Demonstrated effective negotiation skills resulting in profitable growth
  • Familiarity with CRM software and proven ability to use it as an enabling tool to manage and drive sales

Pay

U.S. Market-Based Base Salary Range for Territory Manager, Northern California: $85,400.00 - $110,900.00. In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
