About the role
As a Territory Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping customer relationships and driving business growth. From nurturing existing accounts to hunting for new business, this role is all about passion, performance, and partnerships. Responsibilities
- Be the Customer Champion: Own and nurture customer relationships in a team-based selling model. Educate customers on ordering platforms and provide menu consultations, product recommendations, and pricing strategies to help customers succeed.
- Drive Sales Success: Increase case growth and acquire new business through impactful sales presentations and tailored approaches. Effective time and territory management is critical.
- Team-Based Selling: Collaborate with Specialists to assist with top penetration opportunities and new account openings. Work closely with marketing, supply chain, and customer service to ensure seamless product delivery.
- Lead with Insight: Develop new business by identifying prospective customers using market intelligence databases, business directories, and leads from existing clients. Participate in organizations, clubs, and trade shows.
- Delivery Resolution: Manage deliveries according to the routing schedule and troubleshoot issues during the order process (e.g., delivery mispicks, short loads, stock-outs).
- Competitive Advantage: Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ products, prices, and sales. Share insights with customers as part of value-added services.
- Stay on the Move: Drive your personal motor vehicle to conduct regular check-ins, site visits, and follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction.

Work Environment
Daily outside-the-office work in your assigned territory, visiting customers in variable weather and temperature conditions.
Requirements
- 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record in good standing.
- Foodservice industry, culinary, restaurant management, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities.
- Ability to build internal and external relationships and cold-call to develop new business.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Competitive spirit with a drive to exceed goals.
- Problem-solving ability, organization, and negotiation skills.
- Team-oriented mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Tech-savviness – proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools like Salesforce is a plus.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 lbs.

Pay
The initial expected base rate for this role is between $55,000 - $95,000, depending on relevant experience, education, skills, function, and geographic location.
