About the role
Mohawk Industries is seeking a Territory Manager to join their team in Southern Florida. This entry-level sales position focuses on discovering new customers and existing markets within the assigned territory, with the goal of achieving short and long-term objectives set in the company's Business Plan.
Responsibilities
- Perform sales calls to customers and potential clients, sharing information and supporting them
- Make sales presentations to both new and existing clients, calculate and quote prices, take orders, and close transactions
- Provide customer service to resolve issues within the company's policies
- Communicate customer needs and requests to relevant departments for support
- Monitor territory performance against established objectives and take strategic actions to improve performance
- Provide product-specific customer feedback to product line managers, management, or customer service personnel as needed
- Aid in establishing sales objectives for the territory in collaboration with the District Manager and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and practices
- Timely report activities in the field and prepare special reports for business and product planning
- Develop a territory coverage plan defining the type and frequency of customer contact needed to meet territory goals
- Analyze region opportunities and develop forecasts for sales by customer and product, as well as other statistical reports as required
Requirements
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred
- 1-3 years of progressively responsible work-related experience, or equivalent combination of education and training
- Knowledge of the marketing and sales environment, including basic accounting, product developments, manufacturing procedures, distribution, customer service, etc.
- Proficiency in using a PC, email, and other in-house database systems
Qualifications
- Good at presenting and communicating orally, in writing, and interpersonally to effectively interact and negotiate with internal and external customers and business contacts
- Ability to reduce tension or conflict in antagonistic situations while maintaining professionalism
- Good at persuading, marketing, and selling new ideas
- Good at gathering, assembling, correlating, and analyzing statistical and financial data to develop solutions
What Else?
- 75% to 100% domestic travel via land and/or air
- May be required to lift and move up to 100 lbs without lifting aids
- Vision requirements are comparable to those required for a valid driver's license
- Requires 100% body movement to successfully perform the job, such as standing, reaching, climbing, using all major limbs, etc.
