Berkley Management Protection offers a modular suite of management liability products through the Grove℠, their bespoke and easy-to-use platform where users can quote, bind, and issue. Their Trellis Management Liability Portfolio℠ of coverages includes directors and officers, employment practices, fiduciary, cyber, crime, and miscellaneous professional liability.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the marketing focal point for Berkley Management Protection in a given state or territory, coordinating resources and expertise to meet and exceed results.
  • Implement all agency management and distribution strategies and tactics as the Territory Manager.
  • Report directly to the AVP and collaborate with underwriting to manage agency distribution and execute growth, profit, and relationship-building initiatives.
  • Grow the private company management liability lines of business in the assigned territory.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Vice President to establish and implement a sales culture.
  • Build strong relationships with agents to drive mutually beneficial results through agency planning, production, and growth.
  • Manage distribution and negotiate agency appointment agreements.
  • Monitor competitors’ offerings and emerging industry issues.
  • Influence the structure of the region to capitalize on the strengths of individual team members.
  • Work with regional and senior leadership to develop and drive underwriting and business strategies within the region and nationally.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of insurance marketing experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Demonstrated depth in negotiation, sales, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to work with multi-faceted systems.
  • Ability to manage a complex workload independently while exhibiting sound judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with agents and other departments while exemplifying superior teamwork.
  • Ability to travel in assigned territory—60% agency engagement/travel. This is an external-facing role with a combination of in-person and virtual agency appointments, with a strong emphasis on face-to-face meetings whenever possible.
