About the role
Square is seeking a Territory Account Executive to join its growing field sales organization. This individual contributor role focuses on bringing a local presence to sellers across the country, engaging with them in relevant ways to promote Square’s mission of economic empowerment. The ideal candidate will sell into restaurants, retailers, and service-based businesses in high-potential markets, leveraging a mix of in-person interactions and digital strategies to drive sales.
Responsibilities
- Engage with and sell to restaurants, retailers, and service-based businesses in high-potential markets
- Perform discovery and demos to generate interest and close deals selling Square’s ecosystem
- Build a sustainable pipeline through in-person visits and digital marketing
- Collaborate with onboarding teams to ensure successful implementation of Square solutions
- Cultivate a deep understanding of the business and technology needs of primary vertical markets (restaurants, retail, services)
- Achieve and exceed monthly sales goals and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Requirements
- 2+ years of sales experience in a full-cycle closing role with direct field sales experience
- Experience exceeding sales targets, selling a diverse ecosystem of products, and closing complex deals
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to drive deals independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Business development experience (e.g., hunting and cold calling)
Qualifications
- Reliable transportation and living in or near the market you are serving
- A collaborative and team-player mentality
Skills
- Strong understanding of the business and technology needs of primary vertical markets (restaurants, retail, services)
- Proficiency in Salesforce for tracking and reporting on sales activities, pipeline status, and outcomes
