About the role
This position is accountable for the operation, personnel management, and customer service within a specified geographic region.
Responsibilities
- Promote and develop safe work behaviors in line with the company’s safety programs and objectives
- Monitor hours of service for drivers; maintain compliance with all company and government regulations and policies
- Supervise performance of drivers to achieve incident-free deliveries of every load
- Lead, manage, evaluate, and develop staff personnel
- Forecast terminal performance; evaluate performance and take corrective action to meet expense and financial forecasts
- Engage local customers regularly to drive growth and enhance relationships
- Ensure maximum asset utilization
- Promote positive work habits including effective and timely communication, teamwork, and respect for co-workers
- Provide constructive guidance to other employees and representatives of third parties
- Contribute to providing the highest quality of products and services to customers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent business experience in the transportation industry
- Excellent conflict resolution skills
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office
