Tenured/Tenure-Track Faculty Position

About the role

The Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering (CBE) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick invites applications for open-rank tenured or tenure-track faculty positions in the areas of biomanufacturing, pharmaceutical engineering, and clean energy and sustainability. These positions align with the School of Engineering’s (SOE) strategic priority areas in Healthcare Technology and Innovations in Energy.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to research and teaching in biomanufacturing, pharmaceutical engineering, and clean energy and sustainability.
• Collaborate with industry partners to advance research and innovation.
• Develop and maintain a robust research program that complements existing strengths in the department.
• Teach courses in relevant areas and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.

Requirements

• PhD in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• Outstanding research record demonstrating potential for significant contributions to the field.
• Strong commitment to teaching and mentoring.
• Experience in industry collaboration is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of successful research and publication.
• Ability to secure external funding.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Skills

• Expertise in biomanufacturing, pharmaceutical engineering, and clean energy and sustainability.
• Strong background in computational modeling, AI/ML, and data science.
• Experience with self-driving labs and automation for advanced manufacturing.
• Knowledge of carbon circularity, waste upcycling, and sustainable materials synthesis.
• Understanding of critical minerals and materials recovery using biological and non-biological approaches.
• Proficiency in electrified processes for sustainable and energy-efficient manufacturing.
• Experience with bio/polymeric materials synthesis, modeling, and characterization.
