About the role

The Department of Neuroscience at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in basic neuroscience. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching responsibilities may include participating in medical school basic science education as well as graduate training through affiliation with one or more of the inter-departmental, interdisciplinary graduate groups of the Biomedical Graduate Studies (BGS) program.
  • Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing an independent research program, synergistic with the scientific interests of one or more research institutes and centers, and other laboratories in the department, school, and university.
  • Special attention will be given to those who incorporate innovative machine-learning-based approaches in their studies or apply human cell-based models for mechanistic studies.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in basic neuroscience.
  • A Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
