Tennessee Foster Care Supervisor

Description

Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has since expanded to operate across multiple states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson's continuum of care includes prevention, mental health services, and foster care programs. All programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based, aiming to build resilience in clients and their families.

What will you do as the Foster Care Supervisor?

As a Foster Care Supervisor in the Foster Care department, you will provide leadership, oversight, and support to Licensing and Training Specialists. Your responsibilities include:

• Reviewing licensing and re-licensing status reports
• Conducting individual supervision and coaching with Licensing and Training Specialists
• Reviewing foster home files for accuracy and compliance
• Supporting recruitment strategy and pipeline management
• Addressing barriers impacting licensing timelines
• Collaborating with program leadership and system partners to ensure continuity of foster family support
• Maintaining flexibility to support staff and foster families during some evenings or weekends as needed for orientations, trainings, or recruitment activities

What does this position offer?

• Starting Pay Range: $49k-64,500k annually

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
• Must have a valid Tennessee Driver’s License
• Meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the program(s) they lead
• Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience
  • Master’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience
  • Master’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum Work Experience:
  • Three years of work experience as a high performing individual contributor in a related field
  • Exposure to leadership/management experiences either through short term project management, coordination, training or actual leadership positions
  • Displays the capacity/coachability for future growth and development as a leader
• Supervisory experience preferred
