SUPERVISOR OF FOSTER CARE UNIT

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversight of permanency planning for children placed in care
• Provision of services to children and families
• Compliance with ASFA and other ACS, state, and federal regulations
• Attendance at and compliance with Family Team conferences, ACS conferences, court hearings, etc.
• Closely interacting and coordinating with program and agency administrations
• Assuming specific functions to reach program goals, such as training, monitoring records, and evaluating staff performance
• Monitoring the unit’s cases to comply with program goals and ACS/OCFS regulations
• Guiding casework staff in their ongoing participation in ChildSuccessNYC
• Assume on-site administrative responsibility for all aspects of the FFC permanency planning process

Education & Experience

• MSW or alternate Master's degree required
• LMSW certification preferred
• CANS certified
• At least two (2) years experience in the field of child welfare required
• Two (2) years supervisory experience required

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to effectively communicate clearly
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Able to travel unassisted
• Able to type progress notes
