About the role
This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the unit; supervising, training, and coordinating activities of up to 5 staff; assisting Program Management in hiring, maintaining compliance standards, and conveying to staff the goal of reunification and keeping families together.
Responsibilities
- Assigns caseloads and related duties; coordinates activities of staff in providing foster care services in multiple counties with multiple funding sources.
- Assists Program Manager with the performance management of staff, including recommendations on recruitment, discipline, and development.
- Reviews and signs case records and court documents for all professional staff. Reviews family support worker documentation.
- Provides up-to-date in-service training for workers in areas such as new state policies, procedures, legal issues, and licensing regulations/rules and how to interface with courts in multiple counties.
- Participates in various Agency committees.
- Represents the Agency in community and interagency activities.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Supervisory responsibilities
Directly supervises professional foster care staff.
Education and Experience
- REQUIRED – Minimum of a BA/BS in human service-related field.
- Minimum of four to six years relevant experience in human services/child welfare, three years of which have been in a child welfare agency, child caring institution, or in an agency performing a child welfare function.
- PREFERRED – MSW/MA and prior supervisory experience.
- REFERRED – Lived experience with behavioral health issues.
