Temporary Part Time Accounting Specialist

About the role

The Accounting Specialist position at American Packaging Corporation (APC) is a temporary part-time role located in Story City, IA. This role assists the team in various areas including accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial analysis, and special projects.

Responsibilities

• Aid in managing the shared email box for accounts payable tasks.
• Enter and process vendor invoices for payment.
• Prepare and send ACH remittances to suppliers.
• Support accounts receivable by preparing cash receipts detail for posting to customer accounts.
• Create and prepare invoices and credit memos for customers.
• Contribute to special projects such as utility usage analysis, sales tax analysis, annual audit procedures, and assist with ERP system implementation tasks.

Requirements

• Working towards an Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred but not required).
• Experience in accounting is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.
• Skills in mathematical calculations, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Skills
