Temporary Dental Assistant Position (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Overview

We are a long-established dental practice under NEW ownership seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant (DA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our wonderful team in Oakland, NJ on a temporary basis to cover a maternity leave. This position is expected to begin soon and run for several months. For the right candidate, there is strong potential for this role to transition to a full-time permanent opportunity.

Job Details

• *NEW Ownership
• The office is open 4 days a week: Monday through Thursday. (Closed Friday, Saturday & Sunday!)
• Schedule:
• Mondays from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM
• Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Wednesdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Preparation & sterilization of instruments and operatories
• Assisting the doctor (experience in four-handed dentistry is a plus)
• Taking dental radiographs (if licensed) and assist with patient assessments
• Reviewing medical histories and updating patient records
• Maintaining OSHA and infection control standards
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper sterilization techniques are followed
• Work closely with the dentist to provide excellent patient care

Qualifications

• Valid X-Ray license & RDA certification is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with dental software is a plus
• Team player with a passion for patient care
