Responsibilities
- Manage patient flow to maximize access and service by ensuring dental exam rooms are stocked and ready for patients.
- Prepare patients for dental examinations by taking and recording vital signs and medical/dental histories.
- Communicate requests from patients to the dentist or dental care team members.
- Aid the dentist during various treatment procedures such as taking dental x-rays.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain a supply of functioning instruments and equipment.
- Prepare instruments, materials, and medications for dental procedures.
- Instruct patients on oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
- Provide instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatments.
- Record treatment information in patient records using Electronic Dental Records system.

General Office Duties
- Schedule appointments, answer phones, record medical updates, and complete insurance forms.
- Register patients, collect and post payments, prepare treatment estimates, and run, balance, and close end of day reports.
- Assist patients with insurance forms, inventory stock, order, and verify receipt of dental, lab, or office supplies or equipment.
- Greet and log in patients, keep equipment operational, and perform preventive maintenance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- X-Ray License.
- 1-2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Non-Licensed DA: Completion of Dental Assistant Training Program preferred.
- Licensed DA: DAII (RDA); DAIII (RDA-Extended Function); DAIV (RDA-Extended Function II).
Specialized Additional Duties
- DA I: Perform extra-oral duties or procedures specified by the supervising licensed dentist.
- DA Ii: Perform all duties that a dental assistant is allowed to perform, plus mouth-mirror inspections, applying bleaching agents, obtaining intraoral images, and performing pulp vitality testing.
- DA Iii: Perform all duties that a registered dental assistant is allowed to perform, plus cord retraction for impression procedures, fitting patterns, and removing excess cement.
- DA Iv: Perform all duties that a registered dental assistant is allowed to perform, plus preliminary evaluations, oral health assessments, and conducting endodontic procedures.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Work schedule varies based on department needs, typically includes weekends and evenings.
