About the Role
The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery in a community-focused clinic, working alongside dentists in four-handed dentistry. They ensure efficient patient flow, prepare treatment areas, and assist during various dental procedures while emphasizing a welcoming, human-centered patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient flow, prepare patients, and assist during treatments
- Record medical/dental histories and vital signs
- Assist with dental procedures, take X-rays, and sterilize instruments
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, registration, and insurance forms
- Maintain dental supplies and equipment
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- X-Ray License
- 1-2 years of experience or completion of a Dental Assistant Training Program
- Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and electronic health records
- Certification for health clearances and specific duties based on licensure level, including radiography, intraoral procedures, and orthodontic assistance, under supervision
