This is a full-time temporary position (40 hours per week; 8:30 am–5:00 pm) located on the Evanston campus. Approximate assignment dates: March 16, 2026 – August 31, 2026. Pay: $33.00 per hour.
About the role
Uses judgment to adapt advanced knowledge of skills, methods, practices, policies, and procedures with a moderate degree of innovation, analysis, and reasoning to complete work that is project-oriented and involves some complex problems and decisions.
Responsibilities
- Ensures prompt payment of invoices; researches errors and delayed transactions.
- Serves as Level I and II NU Financials approver.
- Produces, edits, and distributes communications and presentations.
- Manages website, ensuring timely updates.
- Plans numerous special events throughout the year, ensuring all logistics are complete.
- Monitors area facilities conditions and directs requests to Facilities Management using FAMIS.
- Works with management to assign staff and/or faculty space, including appropriate FM refresh/renovation and furniture purchase.
- Coordinates setup of furniture, data, and phone lines.
- Recommends changes and improvements to administrative operations to ensure effective and efficient use of revenue streams for faculty and staff recruitment, program development, research expansions, and space planning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree in business, accounting, or a related field; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
- 4 years of administrative experience including budgets, finance, grants, facilities, and/or human resources; or other relevant experience.

- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a variety of internal and external constituents; writes in a clear and well-organized manner.
- Strong judgment and attention to detail and timelines; ability to manage, organize, and prioritize simultaneous tasks.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and adjust projects and tasks to meet different situations.
- Takes initiative to improve project results and to problem-solve; anticipates and plans for potential tasks needed.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
