Job Summary

The Registered Nurse leads the health care team, providing professional nursing care according to established standards, policies, and procedures. The role adheres to Kaiser Permanente’s Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan.

Essential Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente’s Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.

• Ensures patient comfort and addresses their anxieties, fears, or concerns regarding their condition, treatment, or discharge.
• Provides clear and understandable information about medication purposes, side effects, and administration instructions.
• Ensures a clean, orderly, and functional work environment and treats patients and families with courtesy, respect, kindness, and compassion.
• Acts as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new employees, registry, students, and team members.
• Attends mandatory meetings, in-services, and staff meetings as required, actively participates in professional development, and adheres to the attendance program.
• Assesses current and future unit learning needs and develops an annual education plan.
• Keeps informed of unit activities and makes recommendations for improvements.
• Adheres to the Attendance Program and reports to assigned areas promptly.
• Supports a collaborative Labor-Management Partnership environment through unit-based teams.
• Organizes work to minimize overtime usage and assists in identifying and correcting systems that need improvement.
• Utilizes payroll and non-payroll resources effectively.

Experience

• Minimum one (1) year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in Emergency Department.
• No formal education requirements.
• Registered Nurse License (California).
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Additional Requirements

• This position is a temporary seasonal role, non-benefitted, with a commitment duration of 5 months from date of hire.
• Will be required to work every other weekend and some holidays.
• FT or PT non-benefited, commitment of 5 months from date of hire.
• Primary Location: California, Ontario, Ontario - Vineyard Medical Center - H.
• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 24.
• Shift: Night.
• Workdays: Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat.
• Working Hours Start: 07:00 PM.
• Working Hours End: 07:30 AM.

Pay Range

$69.95 - $74.15 / hour.
