About the role
This position supports Telluride Ski & Golf’s retail operations, ensuring a fun and safe guest experience while adhering to company policies and sustainability initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Know and enforce safety initiatives consistent with company guidelines.
- Support Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives.
- Adhere to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures.
- Promote, support, and understand all activities and events occurring on or off mountain.
- Perform POS operations including opening and closing procedures.
- Operate cash register, process payments, returns, and shipping fees.
- Provide a guest experience that exceeds members/guests expectations.
- Receive, tag, and transfer goods; assist with inventory counts and re-counts.
- Collect warehouse items and accurately receive them into the store via POS.
- Prepare product for shipping as needed.
- Check and return voicemail messages as appropriate.
- Assist with retail shop sales promotions and execution.
- Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
- Maintain cleanliness of shelves, counters, floors, and merchandise.
- Answer customer questions regarding product location, price, and use.
- Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
- Refer customer problems and complaints to a manager or senior staff member when appropriate.
- Perform related tasks or special projects as assigned.
- Promote products by wearing clothing lines while working in stores.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One to three months of retail experience.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn POS systems, inventory systems, basic accounting, Microsoft Office, and internet search engines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify areas for improvement and seek solutions.
- Must be a team player and able to work unsupervised.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with team lifting.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Infrequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Limited housing is available for this position.
Pay
$20 - $22 per hour (based on experience and other factors).
