About the role

Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. Locals enjoy weekly farmers markets in downtown Templeton, farm-to-fork dining, beautiful landscapes for hiking and biking, and beach days just fifteen minutes away at Cambria and Morro Bay.

Responsibilities

  • Operates telephone switchboard console, overhead paging system, two-way radio, alpha/numeric paging unit, and wall alarm panels.
  • Answers calls in a courteous and timely manner, accurately connect callers to their requested destination, and provides appropriate information and assistance as needed.
  • Performs light clerical functions.
  • Occasionally trains new employees.

Requirements

  • Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Customer service call center experience: Preferred

Qualifications

Essential Functions:

  • Answers incoming telephone calls and provides information when requested, utilizing excellent customer service skills and professional telephone etiquette at all times.
  • Answers, evaluates, and directs all calls efficiently. Responds with patience and positive attitude to the caller's request.
  • Provides answering service coverage for identified departments and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Operates paging system in accordance with established procedures.
  • Acts as a dispatcher between hospital personnel and security when the security office is closed.
  • Handles emergency calls in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintains accurate records and logs of all calls and actions taken.
  • Makes sure all equipment is functioning properly and reports any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Monitors calls to ensure they have been properly followed through.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information.

Skills

Skills Required:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $25.00 to $27.04 per hour. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions. Schedule

This position is full-time and works an 8-hour shift, evening shift.
